As this nation celebrated its 46th anniversary of independence with a weekend of activities, the family of a fisherman residing at Diamond, in the South Windward constituency, was thrown into mourning when the bullet-riddled body of forty-two year old Uriah Fields was found in his village.
Residents have reported having heard gunshots fired.
Reports were made to the police and investigators were dispatched to the area.
Fields’ bullet-riddled body was found in the area referred to the ‘Racetrack,’ on Monday morning, Independence Day.
Apart from his livelihood as a fisherman, Fields also worked as a security guard.
Up to press time, there was no report of anyone having been arrested and charged in connection with the crime.
